I sort of understand your point of view. I’m sure you are aware of the role you play in collating your blogs with almost daily entries. Your kid may one day stumble on something their mother wrote. Which would be really cool This is the reason why i keep pictures, knowing that if I lose them, I have then lost a bit of myself to that past.I have a hobby that I probably don’t share with anyone, which is trying to imgaine what it must be like if you could meet your parents or grandparents, etc at the same age (i.e. trying to imagine my mom at age 20), thier trials, tribulations, what’s been bothering them, etc, what they’re personalities must be like.
Because to some extent we are like our parents. Obviously.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be in a type of parental relationship with my mother that is nothing like one. Mutual respect and understanding (most of the time - teenagers will be teenagers). The other day she told me “I don’t take credit for quite a few things that you’ve learnt because I simply wasn’t around enough to be able to teach you”, nor do I blame her for it because it is understandable why she couldn’t be. (Granted, I did end up being a bit of a retarded kid in certain respects). So she’s more like a friend than an otherwise more distant parental figure and I am mega mega lucky that it came to be without me having to try too hard.
